    will a UV steriliser work on ick??

    UV Light kills bacteria.ick is bacteria right?:unsure:

    It's a protozoan, and the UV will only kill the parasite when it is in the water istelf, but not while it's in it's parasitic stage on the fish.

    Most people run UV systems along with their filtration when several tanks share one filter. It's costly but definitely worth it, especially when you have lots of expensive stock.
    I don't know how expensive some Bettas are, though, but I think good quarantining should be used instead of going all the way and buying a UV.
