    They have been in the tank for 2-3 months now and now problem only lost one so far, there is lot of plants and drift wood and coconuts to hide in.

    @johan008, i do think that 15 ancistrus are a bit of an overkill for that tank, at 2-3cm each they fine, but when they get bigger they will contribute to a huge amount of the bioload, and 1 ancistrus could contribute as much waste as 10 or more other smaller fish might produce. this will limit how many other fish you can put in the tank, and especially as you wish to add schooling fish, which require large numbers of a species, it would be wise to consider reducing the ancistrus to perhaps only a few.

    remember if you gonna overstock your tank, your fish will eventually start dying anyway.

    why not swop some of them out at your lfs for some of the schooling fish you want?

    another thing to consider is that sometimes, not always, certain ancistrus might display agression towards other ancistrus in the tank and bully all the rest to death, then you end up having only the one in the tank anyway.

    @mydummyname, I know there is to many ancistrus but when I moved I broke my grow out tank and now I have no other place for them and the reason they are not at a lfs yet is I want to get 1-2 males and maybe a female from that batch.

    So over the weekend I went to @JungleAquatics where Bryan and myself had long and hard discussion on what to get for my tank. So I just want to thank Bryan for his help, +1 for Bryan.

    Ok so I ended up buying 3x Congo tetras, as @themasterofSAURON suggested. I know they must be in a larger group but I am first testing the waters here and see how things turn out, so thanks to everyone who contributed to my decision.

    @themasterofSAURON +1
    @mydummyname +1

    @johan008 well done that is an excellent choice. but please do increase the school as quickly as possible. i am sure they will thrive in that tank, in the correct numbers.
