Troy it could be that the water was too hot when you dissolved the Yeast or the yeast could be old. Do you have a pic of your setup maybe?(Thinking that it may have a leak.)
Used lukewarm water. When touching the water i feel no temp difference as of my finger. The yeast i used came from an unopen sachet. Nope no pic - PM replied to!
Lol yeah true. This is basically just a test system for my new tank. I have read that having a sump destroys the whole purpose of Co2?? True? If not, going to need a little bit more of your help with it when setting the tank up:blink1:
hi slojo how do you control the C02, do you manually turn it on and off everyday or leave the bubbles running 24/7
Im sure Slojo will have a better answer than this but as far as i no if you have a pressurized system you can close the valve or have it running on some timer with the lights? The normal DIY Co2 might as well run 24/7 as you cant turn it off. Don't know the fancy names for all of this but just know Co2 doesn't work without light (For the plants)
hi Troy, thanks for the reply, but if you put the system on a timer with the lights you would then need a solenoid to shut of the c02 supply. this increases the price as well.
@Linga True, then you can manually close the valve before turning lights off and reopen to when lights go back on. I think the trick is to get Co2 flow needed. Adjusting that 'flow valve' over and over after turning it off might drive people to get an automated one. Question, am i by anychance going the wrong way with this? I seem to be confusing myself?
nope you are spot on, manually turning of the valve every day then means adjusting the bubble count everyday which could become a real pain. then what happens if you go on a little holiday, or something its just going to result in problems.
Well i think the Co2 will be done before the holiday is over (depending on how long). My DIY Co2 that Slojo helped me with 'finished' on monday. If you check back on this thread you will see i set it up 4 weeks ago!
cool, but i was thinking of going the pressurised option as i already have a c02 tank, just not using it cos of the cost of the solenoid etc,etc
If I recall from some of the plant people... they have solenoids on their systems. The solenoid turns off about 45minutes to an hour BEFORE the lights go out, and then turn on 45 mins to an hour BEFORE the lights come back on. Leaving CO2 running all night will cause too much CO2 in the tank as the plants don't use it at night. THis could be very detrimental to the fish... let alone the pH swings you will encounter.
yeah thats the way i understand it. so now the next thing is does anyone know were to source a cheap (reasonable) solenoid
This DIY need some explaining. . Please put a pic up of the complete system. Hard to figure out how everything fits together . .
Still cant figure out the Paintball setup . . please can you post pics showing how everything is assembled?
