Yip, overflow to sump has filter wool and sponge then water enters sump through more sponge before being returned to tank and T'd off to trickle filter. This system is not my own design, I modelled it on how Dirk runs his recirculating system. When I get the courage I will attempt adding a nitrate reducing filter.

    Thanks Charles

Sorry for multiple photos of the same fish, but I want to record the change in colour and pattern as these fish mature. In the following photo one can see how the blue base colour of the leopard is increasing and the red pattern is becoming finer. This is the same fish as the leopard in the first post. One can clearly see the change. I have lightened the photo so as to see the patterning more clearly.

    Another update.

Some of these fish are now 14cm from tip of their mouth to caudal peduncle. Thats 10cm growth in 9 months. And their adult colours are now starting to show.

One of the snakeskin females spawned a few weeks ago, but the focus is still on getting them to mature and put on MORE size.

This is presumably a male, and is developing great colour.

ok, here is a shot of the complete tank. The large upturned rose pots are 27cm tall, to give some comparison as to how these fish have grown from 4.5cm babies in March this year.

The main group of fish are now a year old and still growing but it has slowed down and i doubt i will get much more overall length out of them. But they are putting on bulk and it is very noticable in the head region. Nice and broad.

Towards the end of last year I acquired 28 more 4.5cm fish for growing out and their bio-load was to great for their current system, so i added 4 of the larger ones to my main system. They are 7.5cm from tip of snout to caudal peduncle ( SL) now and when you see them next to the older fish, you can see the size comparison.

I know pigeon based fish are not everyone's cup of tea, but this guy ( checkerboard pigeon ) has made for an interesting addition. Once he is fully grown he will be up for sale.

This is what Im almost sure is a male, but that still needs to be proven.

    An unusual red-spotted fish.

Will post some more a bit later.

Thank you for the kind words @Macmish , you should take a drive out this way to check them out in person. Really well worth it and perhaps contact @Dirk and tie up a collection of his awesome imported german food while you out this way.

    Regards

    Andrew
