They are 5 months old. These first 6 that I have re-homed are the smallest 6 of the batch. The remaining 13 are all around the 8cm mark as per the pics attached.

Hi @pHish_man congrats with the new spawn. I see you still have fry with mom and dad? Does this put the fry @ risk with the new spawn? Great looking phish man! (excuse the pun)

LOL, no Hennie, I think what you are seeing there are the air bubbles rising up from the sponge filter.

But the biggest risk now is there are 6 other adult discus in that tank at the moment. For now the parents are guarding the eggs, but I may have to move the other discus to another tank.

Haha yes now I see its air bubbles, if you look quickly it looks like fry...hehe. Ja suppose the only thing you can do is move the other fish or put in a divider with no or tiny holes so that fry cant swim thru to the other Discus. How big is this tank?

Seeing these pics makes me want to keep Discus again.

They are in a 325litre cube. I've split the fish from my main tank into my 2 large cubes as I'm in the process of nuking my main tank to prepare it for my parasite free fishes. So it's quite a hectic time to have to deal with a spawn,.....lol. Anyway, all is on track, and this spawn is only a slight spanner in the works. As it happened, I've just sold off 4 discus an hour ago, which has now free'd up a bit of tank space. ( I'm running 9 discus tanks at the moment, btw )

    Lets see what happens.....

Pair guarding their eggs fiercely. The female ( snakeskin ) is the largest fish in the tank and seems to be keeping the leopard males at bay.

Will see in the morning if any of the eggs have gone black ( holding thumbs )

Ok, we have wrigglers. Now for the mission of moving the large leopard males and RSG female to another tank.

    Thanks Hennie

Just finished catching out the 6 other discus and now dripping them into their new tank. Seems like the disruption wasn't too stressful for the parents and now its a waiting game to see if they raise this spawn. It will be an interesting combo, as the female is the same parent as the previous batches when she paired up with the leopards, but this time round she has paired with a spotted snakeskin and this is his first time. All looking good so far. Mom is head forward facing the wrigglers and has the most stunning black halo around her.

Might be a good thing that she has experience, im sure she will teach him the ways. Fry is gonna be super, just like the parents.

Ja for sure. And this is by far the largest batch of wrigglers she has produced, so we will see what happens. Now hoping Dirk's alencers show some action in the adjacent cube........

Quick photo of 3 of the males before popping them into their new tank.

Once they are all settled in, I will post a group shot.
