I went to the lfs to see what lights they had. Really want to replace mine.
They didn’t have what I wanted in the correct length

But…..they did have this fantastic Synodontis multipunctatus which I couldn’t leave behind

During the festive season, I went past the lfs who had a new range of lights in
I haven’t been happy with my light levels for some time.
So decided to give one a go.

Congrats, tank looks great! I liked the low light moodiness too but with the new light it’s brighter and everything pops. The Anubias look ridiculously happy in the tank

I also liked the natural look of the old lighting. But the plants really do pop now

Some of the Anubias are doing brilliantly. And some struggling.
Can't quite figure out why. Some species are happier under my conditions that others ???

The original lighting didn't show the fish colours nicely. Some of them looked very dull.
They look much better with the new lighting

I bought 1 strip of the lights (and have kept the 2 original)
Was trying to decide whether I needed another strip towards the back. But have left it for the time being.

    My latest additions….
I was at the lfs over the festive season and they had a pair of Reedfish.
Not really biotope correct re my setup. But these are one of my favourite fish of all time.

    Hardly ever see them.
They hide in the wood pile all the time.
Sometimes I see them at feeding time. But they must be getting most of their food that floats down in between the wood.

Plan this weekend is to revamp the revamp.
The way the wood and plants is set out, leaves very dark corners to the tank.
I want to flatten it a bit. Pile the wood all along the back to the edge of the tank. And have it a lot thinner, with more space in the front

You could try a concave layout rather than the current convex one, if you want to mix it up a bit?
I like the current layout but will also be easy to change so why not?

    Could do.
May try the set out first on a sheet of plastic to see how how it looks.
    Before rebuilding in the tank
Friend of mine is coming to help, and he has good design ideas. His tank is fantastic.

That sounds like a really fun way to hang with a friend but only fish nerds will appreciate it :D

I love the current look of this tank, but keen to see the revamped version too.

Big revamp was supposed to happen yesterday.
But we had another big storm.
Needed to be using the hosepipe outside, which wasn't an option.

So have to delay this by a week or two :(
