    Hi

Well the good news is all the fish is still alive and I think I were able to keep my filter media alive.

The really sad news is that the comp tank is a disaster, would have to redo it.
Trying to keep a nano in check while moving house yourself is not a good idea.

Was able to keep one of the features of the tank in tact in a bucket.

Fish are still acclimatizing in bags to our new water and I am beyond pooped.

Just glad I convinced myself to take pics before the move. Will see tomorrow what I can salvage.

Ah, that's not such good news, but not a total disaster either!! Good luck dude. Moving is never easy...

My comp tank just turned into a hospital... My Pakistani Loaches got white spot. Now my nano doesn't look so good anymore.

I seriously hope that you aren't treating them with any form of copper based medication? @Double-D

At least not. I have a religious believe in Tetra Medica FungiStop. It's silver based and works insanely fast. Only downside is that it taints the water and 2 of my comp plants don't like the silver colloid

    Hi All,

I have to tell you that I am pulling out of the competition due to the fact that I managed to crack the back glass on my tank. :bawling: I fitted a clamp on light and the light started to topple over and when I tried to right it, it just split the glass all the way down. I am cleaning it out at the moment to take it to my 6ft tank supplier to see if he will be able to repair it for me. At the moment the glass is being held together by the light clamp. I dare not remove it till I get to Clifford tomorrow. I'm so upset... I will probably try and set it up again when I get it back, but I don't think that the growth will be good enough to still be in the competition. :sad2:

Damn, sorry to hear that @Skye01 - If you need a spare small tank, I have a couple of 2 ft tanks lying around.

@Wyvren Thanks, I too hope that I can still enter in time, but I'm not so sure. Maybe what I will do is if I can get it sorted out in time I will still enter it, but it just won't be "grown in" enough to take a prize, but at least you can all see how good/bad my designing abilities are. I doubt they will be nearly as awesome as yours though...

@Sean J, Thanks a million, I might have to take you up on that offer because at the moment all my plants are in different tanks trying to survive. I'll let you know before the weekend... At least I will be able to drop off the beer I owe you in person...

Jip I would need to enter the last pics I took.

Got the tank setup Monday night and only got back home today to find all my fissidens dead which kind of had a very important role in the tank.

There is something in our new water that kills things and fast. Will see if I can get it tested.

Water out the tap is 6.4 but out my tanks 7.4 and its all new water in the tanks.

Seems like it has been a bad week for a few comp tanks .. I will need to do a serious prune tonight - think I left some the plants dry for to long over the weekend when I was doing a plumbing move to get more tanks going. Checked back today and most of the java ferns are now black ... dope. At least I can now run 4 comp size tanks outside without adding to my electricity bill.

    Spot the competition tank ...

I am thinking of redoing the planting and see what if anything we can salvage.

@Sean J - 6 typed of plants, does that mean if I have two types of java fern that I only have 4 other plants types to use?

    Later Ferdie

I had forgotten how fast purigen works. Up till now my tank water was slightly brown due to wood and my rooibos tea that I had added for my boy since he liked the water slightly stained. With weekly water changes I had removed most of the tannins and this afternoon I added the purigen and 30mins later my water was crystal clear. Reason for removing it was simply so that the colours of the plants and fish stand out better. And its actually a big difference. Had to also do a trim, most plants about 2cms removed. 1 other plant is also going reaching the surface. By next week I will trim it again. I am rather impressed with the growth in this little tank, its even better than in my other tank. That is one slowly growing in again.

Yep unfortunately my excel killed the vallis I had a while ago. But it took about a month and then it looked like the vallis was used to it.
