@shihr - You too man! I hope you come right with the algae issues... Although, even with a bit of algae, your tank looks awesome!! I have that HC in a "slightly nutritious" substrate, using pressurized Co2, 23 watts of light over a 1ft tank, Tropica Plant nutrition and Excel. I think it should grow!! I bloody well hope so, anyhoo... I just think I need to dose a little N and P as well... I also managed to get a little Hemianthus micranthemoides too. So I have a 2 plant nano!!

You have some mighty fine plants in those holding tanks of yours!!

 

@Sean J dude the best part about the forums is the friendships built over then. We can hook up with guys we have only ever spoken to online and it is like we have known each other for years.

PPS dont for get I cam some left over HM for you are well, you might find something you like in my over stocked tank lol..

 

It's totally true man! I actually went and sponged some substrate off of Algae Wizard... I love getting stuff from forum members! It makes it more worth while. I'm also trying a tiny piece of HC emmersed. It is a really small piece though, we'll see what happens.

I've got a small bunch of HM so don't worry for now. If something happens to it, I'll give you a shout.

found a pet shop in cape town that has the aqueh2o tanks for R160 so i might be moving mine pity they onley have the nanousso want a 1.5m

 

@wolf - Be very careful of the bigger AquaH20 tanks... They have a tendency to crack. I'm not sure if this issue has been fixed on newer ones, but the old ones were very prone to cracking...

 

new? dit they not go bust thanks for the tip.

 

I don't know if they went bust or not, but they have a reputation of their tanks bursting.

@Sean J, thanks again for the offer, but I took the plunge and bought a 1.5ft tank to get ready for the comp. All I do know is that you guys are all so much further ahead than what I am. I'm only washing the tank and doing the hardscaping today, and then hopefully I will also be able to add all the substrate and such. Still up in the air over the plants, but I'm sure I will come right pretty quickly.

Got approval as long as its the one and only tank in the house.

*EDIT* Have also got some ideas to make it appealing as decor, so it should be less of a bug bear

 

@Sean J - Im at the point where I wanna show off! Kidding, Im very happy with my tank, 99% done, just awaiting some plants. So far I think it looks good and more importantly the inhabitants are very happy.

 

going to get the few plants i want today and will start playing when i get back to the commune. i'm procrastinating leaving home cos i'll have to leave my mutt.

Tank was set up and scaped 2 weeks ago... however based on some additions that I am waiting for... I fear a complete rescape may happen this week.

 

HAHAHA!! It always happens like that! One thing makes you change everything!!

 

Hehehehe, fortunately the one thing that would have caused my rescape didnt pan out, so now just awaiting plants
