Last night I bought a few plants, don’t know anything about the name, it’s a long plant, (green) haha, thick stem, and the leaves have a white rim around it.

Anyway, I planted it in the tank, and the plant was to long, so I chopped the top off, and replanted it in the same container in came in, will this piece grow again?

Sounds like Dracaenia not an aquarium plant which is commonly sold as such. Post a pic.

Some stem plants can form new roots where it was clipped. Post a pic will be easier to ID the plant and give you better info.

Could be what boebie said, seen alot of these at LPS

research my friend.. dont worry, we all been there and done that..

when u ask them, they'll tell u that they sell it for ponds..

with these plants aparently u can submerge the roots with the stem and leaves above water.. fully submerged, they rot..

Research and experience will teach you what to buy. Giving you names won't help you either, because when you walk into your LPS and ask for a plant by name, they will look at you with the traditional South African blank stare!

    Hi Vez

Buy yourself a good Aquarium book.
This is always handy and the nice ones will also include some of the basic aquarium plants etc.

I have a older one and even though I have looked through it a million times I always go and have a look again.

There is also forums that will list easy to hard plants with pics.
