Hey everyone ") So I am newish to the forum, but have been on and off in the hobby for a while. Problem is, I tend to stick to my "known: places, which means I don't venture out to the stores and often miss out on meeting the awesome other people in the hobby!

Is there going to be another meet up any time soon?:) Maybe I'm being hopeful, but lets give it a go haha

How about we do a species spotlight each time we meet up? Eg someone who keeps a specific type of fish tells us a bit more about the ideal parameters, tank setup, temperament, tankmates etc.

Nothing too formal, but it was really nice last year when @Hendre chatted about polys.
@Chandz I’m looking at you and apistos, @Cale24 GBR ;) Then of course others who keep the fish can chime in.

Perhaps we could do 1 fish and 1 plant spotlight? What do you guys and gals think about it?

We should also start a CT Whatsapp group for meetups.

We can always have a mailing list, but it's always good to keep communication on the forum. WhatsApp groups suck a lot out of fish forums nowadays.

@A new day I like your idea

I agree with the WhatsApp point... groups are a nightmare in my opinion haha. Mailing list could be quite cool, maybe do a general one though and let different people send out a little article each time and make it like a forum wide newsletter though?

Love the idea of a spotlight meetup though!

I don’t think we should do anything that competes with the forum, plus if it stays on the forum then new members etc stay up to date and feel welcome to join.

Folks who want to do a little write up afterwards can do so if they wish but not at all required I reckon. Shouldn’t become a chore for those who volunteer to do a species spotlight I think.

Good point. Especially once work starts again for everyone... right now there is time for stuff but not for too much longer haha

    Thanks @A new day

Whatsapp and Facebook groups, the info is there today but not easy to find a month later

On the Forum its documented info that stays there not only for yourself and current members to refer back to but also for new members in generations to come

What we can do is make an admin only group that people can join, then we'll notify everyone of get togethers arranged on the forum

Not a bad idea. Missed the last meet because of work, but definitely going to be at the next one.
