@Zoom - What did you pay for the transformer to run the fans?

@Zoom, Sounds like you need it running 24/7 then. I think I'll be doing that anyway. Water change is forced then. LOL! I like that. Good for the fish and plants. I think I will source some 220V pieces. Don't want to sukkel with transformers etc. I like the one fan sucking and other blowing method. Keeps the lid cool and moisture down. This will help alot seeing I have 3 double T5 ballasts in the hood. Will become very hot. 2 Flies with one klap. Nice.

@SloMo.00. - Be careful of bubbling water (filters, air stones etc) as mine got quite damp. Probably too close to the water but thought I should mention it.

Im not using glass sliders at all!! look below the water runs off the slant and the glass has a champ-fer (spelling*) stops it from going under the wood!

Nice work there Wrenchy, it looks really neat.

For the fans you should easily be able to get hold of either 12V or 220V fans. I've seen both at Communica in any size you want. Just make sure you don't get something that sounds like a turbine.

As for glass and losing light, you only lose 1% transmittance per mm of glass thickness. So the light loss in theory is minimal.

Also, that water evaporating out of the system is not carrying any of the things you want to remove from your water via water changes, all the impurities stay behind. That's why top-ups don't help like proper water changes do.
