Borneo April 2017, Kuching

Bit of a rush - 2 hours by road ...but I got to see almost the entire mountain top.

Mnt Kanabalu is said to be covered under clouds most days all day.



at the gate I was greeted by what is here a familiar weed.



Saw streams and now familiar green stuff - but here things are a bit different, plants grab you and do not let go - this is not the same rain forest that was awesome in Mulu.



But fungus we shall have.

 

Thought the best place to find the any pitchers would be



Hmmm this is supposed to be an orchid display, thinks the flowering season is over and done.


Looks like they hide the good stuff

Not many on display behind the fence ...but my my how stunning is this.







These look a bit past the prime


But I am sure it makes for a great show when in bloom

I moved on as the hoards - and I mean bus loads descended.

Thanks @Pierré Schoonraad - this exposure sure has me thinking about the detail of life more.








But as part of a bigger much much bigger picture

 

But that view is all about perspective.




Same story different views.



But none of this helps if you are not always open to support and input ... like being 2km down the wrong path.




It was great to have a companion for the walk down, no clue how it new.
