I would not bother with a drip tray just yet .. first see if you can get the flow as desired. The thing is once you insert the peace of perspex you will see if the rest of the plan will work - it probably does not have to be 100% water tight again rubber/batting/filter floss can all be used so seal things up if need be.

Glad I could share a thought - now get cracking and post pics on the progress ;-)

    Ok so first things first....

Ferdie gave me a very good plan to sort my flow problem in my sump. Got some time today so I did just that. Got a piece of perspex from Maizey's that would fit the sump. Basicaly I made a removable baffle so the water would flow through my media instead of around it. Also sealed the sides off with foam. So now water flow over the baffle, through the media and then under and over the next one to the pump chamber. Problem NO problem...... :) Thanks @f-fish....

    And the proof....

    The perspex.

    Perspex cut to shape.

In position in the sump and sealed off.

After my sump was sorted i got inspired to do a bit more work on the tank. (Was a little unproductive in the work department today....haha)
As some may have noticed in some pics a few posts back my electricals was a mess and my waterchange pipe ran over everything... Not a good plan. So after my sump work I did some more work on my electricals. Build a box for a plug strip and mounted some switches in the door so I can switch everything on and off seperately.....Also got a timer for my lights.... so this will make life much more simple I hope..... Just need to paint it still....

And here it is... Now just to do the stand covers.....

Doesn't look like much but works great and cleans up the electrical mess.....

@Ryno and @f-fish thanks so much guys.... Comments much appreciated.... The tank has become a family member.... I can't wait to start on the scape and to add some new members. But she has to be perfect first. :) This fishkeeping thing has become a problem it seems. Haha

Nice cleanup on the wires dude :blink1:. Have you ever thought what you will do when all the work is done :hmmmm2:? I look at my build and often think "What else/next?" :stupido2:

Haha... Yes I do and often.... That's why I keep on thinking up new little projects for the tank. But once this one is done I will be overhauling the 350l from scratch. Even a reseal. The tanks silicone is not good anymore but I have my suspicions it was a previous bad reseal job.

Ps: thanks. It does look allot better and les dangerous.... Haha

So its safe to say the tank is finally fully cycled and ready to add some new members. Got 2 flagtails on order from the lfs and was thinking of adding 2 banjo cats? Any thoughts on the banjos with large cichlids? I can grow them out in the 350l if need be?

This means if have got 3 malawis (which is not supposed to be there in any case) and 2 green terrors up for grabs. But will start a new thread on them tomorrow in the meanwhile they are free just come and collect.

My new pieces of wood is also almost ready for the tank but they are still floating. At least the tank will look a little less empty. Cheers
