Sooo. A little update. Still no new fish but i did spend some time on the return side of my sump. Got a new and improved return pump today. Its rated at 3600lph at 0 head. I must say a quality pump is just in a different class. My current return pump is rated at 4000lph and the new one kills it 10x over... Its got a max head of 4.2m. At 1.5m its still 3400lph and it shows when turned on...... I also changed my spray bar to a dual inflow so current is not so focused in one spot in the tank. Better spread and better waste pickup.... So that was a win win. Also did a little trick mod to make sure both inflows get equal water volume (well I think so... :) )

    Ok enough chat. Some pics...

Thanks allot @Macmish.... Its getting there.

The glass is only 10mm. @Hawk I think the pic makes it look bigger and better. Haha I think that's why its so heavily braced.

Hi everyone. My tank has been quiet for a while now so I thought an update is a bit overdue. Got some new fish in finally and some pics of shy old ones and moved some fish out that was sold. (Still trying to get my South American/Central American theme sorted. Still need to sell a Parrot and Frontosa.) The scape is still a mess…….. It will get there I hope…….

I have taken down the 350l tank. It will be moved next to the 720l this week and joined via the sump. I know there is some negative aspects to this but there is 2 big positives. First is water volume and second will be the benefits of live plants, yes I’m finally getting rid of the plastics. Haha…… Will also be redoing the canopy while I’m at it.
Still don’t know the stock list for the tank but I was thinking some smaller South American cichlids and a few cats……

Hope to post some pics of the move this week.

Anyway… Here is the pics for now.

The local prices on wood are crazy. I think we should bring in a bakkie or truck load of driftwood/Mopani to Bloemfontein. That way, we'll have wood for the next decade...lol...
