I was looking at one of those tanks from H2O Aquariums myself. Now after reading this thread I am not so sure anymore.:wondering:

Bri! they were only joking as I said I've had my tank for five months and it's still going strong, no cracks no bending in places it shouldn't if anything should happen my tank will be insured. I'm still extremly happy with my tank and as they guys said only after 1,5m there could be problems, these guys were only pulling my leg!!! At a much later date, in a couple of years I'll probable have it reinforced like most old tanks that have been through the mill. If you're worried speak to aqua h2o and ask them about the stories you've been hearing and what are they going to do about it?

I was thinking about the bigger aquariums – 1,5m and above. The company sent me a detailed price list, but I will discuss issues regarding the strength of the bigger aquariums.

I'm not too sure of the chances anyone has of them acknowledging the problem. Most sales people will tell you that either it is a rumor OR that there used to be a problem and it has been sorted out. Unfortunately, even if this was the case, once problems such as these are repeatedly observed and word of mouth has spread, the probability of the sales increasing on those products are minimal to say the least. A prime example is the dog food which caused pets to die - they still have not reached their previous sales levels even with extensive marketing etc. The risk is always there that the sales person is pulling the wool over your eyes and the problem still exists. I'd proceed with caution personally.

Ok True!!! then if there is any doubt in your mind at all then don't go for Aqua H2o tanks go for a more reliable brand. Ask questions on the site and you'll quickly find out which brand is the best. :)

In all honesty it's those glass corner units I've seen the most pictures of burst all over... I remember about 3 instances of this happening locally. Only remember seeing about 2 of the long type tanks burst.

    1. Put it on a tiled floor.
    2. Don't put it next to the tv.
    3. You go get these water alarm thingies. Maybe you can hook up some sort of water sensor to your home alarm.

That is worrying after seeing the thread but Aqua H20 replaced the tank and fish, so there was a positive out come apart from the fish deaths, that's very said!!! I'm going to keep a eye on my tank and hope it doesn't do the same thing!

Well the AquaH2O I have was bought second hand, is "bullet" shaped and thus a single curved piece of glass in excess of 2,4m and it's still going strong, and has survived a pretty hectic move without issue.

It has plenty of bloody scratches though :(

I think the problem is more related to the normal "rectangular" aquariums with the bow fronts, and their pressure distribution being cocked up.
