Hi guys,
Thanks for the compliments, It's very encouraging.

Skye01, The plant you referred to is an Aponogeton crispus. http://www.aquaticplantcentral.com/forumapc/plantfinder/details.php?id=87 and here, http://www.tropica.com/en/plants/plantdescription.aspx?pid=083

There is some confusion over the name of the Badis and is known as a Badis Badis as well as a Scarlet Badis and as a Badis Bengalensis (Dario Dario) http://www.future-digital.com/aquarium_info/info_freshwater_tropical_fish/dario_dario_7.html In the short time I've had them, I've really grown to love them, I can't stop watching them... So fascinating! I think I will eventually split them between my Fluval Edge and The Riparium... (Yes, I know... It's ridiculous, I am busy planning and building three new tanks - think I'm going to need a fish room soon! Hehe.)

Hey Pierré Schoonraad Glad you got the rest of the Badis, they really are irresistible. Just remember that if you want to breed them, You'll have to make some small caves for them... Coconut caves are ideal, see the sticky here: http://www.tropicalaquarium.co.za/showthread.php?3999-How-to-make-Coconuts-into-quot-Caves-quot Just choose the smallest coconuts you can find. They do become territorial, so try placing the caves as far apart from each other with the cave mouths facing away from each other, it will also help if you place some plants in between so as to "hide" them from each other.

Hi boebie and Lloydster, Yes, that plant is an eriocaulon setaceum. It is a native of southeast Asia and northern Australia. It is a challenging plant and requires intense lighting (3 watts per gallon or more.) I've been told to trim only when absolutely necessary, as it doesn't respond well to it. Also to only replant the top 5cm of each stem for best results, otherwise, cuttings that are too tall will result in leggy and ratty stems. Must say that it is a beautiful plant, very fine leaves.

I did a small shuffle of the plants over the weekend, moved some and put a couple new ones in. Then on Monday, noticed this on some grass I put in the previous weekend:

Is this pearling? If so, I thought it was only supposed to happen with co2!

@Barry.M - That is a bog plant species. Acorus calamus or Sweet Flag. Maybe the bubbles you see is just an reaction by the plant to be suddenly grown under submerged conditions with the high light you got....

Ah thanks, makes sense. Will move it over to the Wabi-kusa then. I'm going to re-do the wabi, the black substrate really is horrible. Must say that I really like the sweet flag - very pretty...
All the other plants are going completely "bos' in here!

Hey @ Barry.M.

I Know this is an old post. I saw that plastic bag trick a few weeks ago on youtube.
Does it really work?

How to fill the completed 'scaped tank.

Here’s the way I to do this: Spray the plants with a pump action spray bottle after you finish the layout. Scrunch up several sheets of newspaper and place them over the finished planting until it’s completely covered. Wet the newspaper down (soaking wet) with the water sprayer.
Next place a large sheet of thin plastic (A black refuse bag is perfect, make sure it’s an unscented one) over the newspaper, make sure that all of the surface area is covered. Then slowly fill the tank with a hose or watering can, ensuring that the water falls very gently onto the central part of the plastic sheet.
When the tank is full, very gently remove the plastic sheeting, and then the newspaper. This method works perfectly for me and leaves your plants, substrate and aquascape just as you intended. You will also have almost perfectly clear water! (Sometimes, I’ve left the newspaper out or the plastic. Don’t, use both, it really works.) Remember not to be in a hurry. Work slowly and gently...

Note: You might be worried that the ink in the newspaper will be harmful to your fish... It isn't.
Also, remember to let your tank cycle before you add your fish, you need some time for your plants to adjust, take root and settle into their new lighting conditions. You also need to let your water gradually move into its own balance.
