I have been searching the www for any spare parts related to the Dymax HI5, I'm looking for the hanging kit and mine does not have one, its not selling and after some price search I decided I will take the hood off and hang the light from a string "L" bracket using rollbolts, but I can't start doing anything unless I find the kit that comes with it when you buy it new. Any ideas or guides would be appreciated, my plants are not happy with the 18W T8 and I can't keep the Dymax inside the hood to damn hot.

I have wood -> don't tell the wife

It's been a while. I eventually got hold of a nice piece of wood for the tank, I just had to use some of the rock to keep it down.

I noticed today that my one male Congo has some red marks on his fins. I do weekly 20-30% water changes and he is the only one from the 3 Congos that has these markings. The two males are keeping each other busy in the mornings during spawning so I'm not sure if this is related

I had to unpack the "beast" again but decided not to mount on to the hood again as it is to heavy to lift every sinlge time for feeding. I know this is not safe but can I keep it there for long periods without needing to check the cross bracing and silicon for heat issues?

Dude, that looks really dangerous! Can't you add some cross pieces at each end of the light. Some wooden battons or something?

I actually removed it after 1 day, I could only imagine if the worst would happen, the wood braces is actually a good idea. On another note, I added a piece of what I think is spider wood, it isn't leeching but on certain ends I have this funny "slime" buildup. In the picture above is it where the cursor is/was

So one of my Neons decided to keep be busy tonight. It's swimming funny, otherwhise it is eating. Been reading and it seems that they could be constipated [dutch spelling warning]. Here is a quick vid i tried to take, none of the other fish are affected.

If you think he's constipated, try feeding them some blanched, skinned peas. He doesn't look happy.

Fed the whole lot some peas last night. This afternoon the poor guy is still "acting" the same, still feeding like the rest, I think someone stole his GPS or something, very strange. I will give him/her a week then it is swim time with mr.tiolet I'm afraid. Going on 3weeks leave and don't want any surprises when I come back.

Do a search for posts by Dirk and swim bladder infection. I remember he has said in the past that it can be treated if you catch it early.

To be on the safe side, if you're worried it could spread, fill out the disease questionnaire and we can see if there's something that might be causing a problem.

Been on leave for 3 weeks asked a friend to do a 20% water change in week1, came bacj to find he didn't position the auto feeder correctly, a whole blob of flakes on the bracing, fish survived for 2 weeks on no food, or should I say everyone survived on one neon, MIA. Got another Female Congo and a Pleco, my first, no idea what it is as it was labelled as Gold Spotted "Nugget" Pleco, anyone care to confirm/guide as to what is really is.
