Alright. The diet right now is -
Egg Yolk - they don't like it that much.
Crushed Tetra Flakes and Tetra Min Granules - same as the egg yolk.
Mixture of Frozen Brine Shrimp and Frozen Blood Worms chopped into a pulp - They like it.

We shall see how they proceed.

No, not feeding BBS currently. My lFS don't stock good quality and high hatch rate BBS, so I couldn't get a hold of any. Also fund are really low as I am setting up a planted tank. Does anyone know if our sponsors stock high quality BBS eggs?

Both Jungle Aquatics and Petstop had ocean nutrition BBS last weekend. I bought some and will start hatching the first ones overnight. Will let you know how it goes.

Was around R220 for 50 grams from both of them. That should last a good while as far as I can tell.

Just to clarify - R220 for both of them? Or R220 each?

Ohh alright. Would you mind telling me how it goes and the hatch rates, aswell as how many days it lasts on your ratio. Thanks.

These people should be ashamed of themselves, charging that price.

I charge R 540 per 425 g tin or R140 per 100 g. Having said that I am sold out again, at my prices I cannot keep up. My hatch rate is 95%, I just wonder what the hatch rate is of these eggs.

    Kind regards,

    Dirk

Thanks for the input Dirk. Will probably have some more cash in a few months. Will just test out my current experiment, but would definitely want some of your BBS eggs in the near future. What would shipping cost to Joburg?

    Thanks.

For a small parcel around R25 for insured parcel post, and you could get some dried food as well, also at a fraction of the price.

    UPDATE!

Think I lost around 5 so far. Been a week so far.

Took them around 4 days to become wrigglers.
Went from wrigglers to free swimmers in around 2 days.

Been feeding them mixture of finely crushed egg yolk once a day. Frozen Brine Shrimp and Frozen Blood Worms mixed together into a mush.
Their bellies seem pretty full so they must be eating?

Any advice would be 100% appreciated, just be sure to read the thread first.

    Thanks.

    Hey guys!

It's the fry's 2 week birthday day date =p I can definitely see a change in the amount but they still running strong. Estimating around 75-100 fry left. Stopped the egg yolk and now feeding brine shrimp and blood worms 3 times a day. Bellies look always full

REALLY exciting is that today they have tiny little dorsal and anal fins! Too cute and really really small but with the lights on I was able to see some finage!

    Wish me luck!

As promised I would post pics! They are officially 2 weeks and 2 days old!
They dorsal and anal fins are growing each day and are becoming more and more easy to see!
The junk on the bottom is cleaned up each day with a water change so it doesn't spike ammonia or other things.
Really hard to capture these guys and my camera is pretty junky but I tried =D
