Altum X Scalare Angels

@Ryno and everybody else, I will take some pics again and post to show these red spots they developed that @Dirk was talikng about.

 

I dont want to hijack this thread, but these were also sold as altum angels last year. They belong to Dirk but he has asked me to grow them out for him. When they arrived I did not photograph them, they were so small i thought they would die of fright when the flash went off. Anyway, here they are now growing out.

@Dirk, hope you dont mind me posting these photos.

Thanks for this, but I still cant see the difference? So I am still confused, these to me with my untrained eye, looks more like normal angels? But thats just me....hopefully we can clear this up when @Dirk posts the angel thread.

 

The above angels are DEFINATELY not altums. But they were traded as such.

 

Ok, here is a batch of angels in a different tank, which i got from Dirk last year. In my opinion they look WAY more attractive

Thank you for the thread you created showing the differences between Altum and Scalare Angels. I think that every Angel lover will now have a better understanding between these two types. it's some nice fish you have there Charles!

 

I agree with Mattie that these are nice fishes, pure Peruvian red spotted scalare. Charles, can you take a pic in which the bottom of the ventral fins of both of the fishes is visible. Why I ask is because I may then be able to sex them. At the moment, I get the impression that they are both male, but I hope I am wrong.
