May I ask which Anubias species you were referring to?
I'm keen to get some, but not sure which ones aren't on the BL.

@firemanmuzz- thanks - my temp is set at 21 degrees on the heater....have found on VERY hot days that it does creep up,but with the high turnover rate, never seen it above 24 degrees - wich is the upper end of what they tollerate...

@Immy - the Anubias I added is a variegated form - not sure of species... Still a bit small to tell easily - there is a pic of it earlier in thread...

2nd pic is of the big male Sewellia sp. Spotted - Dude is almost 8cm long....was parking on the front glass for once,so snapped him...lol - even with all the algae, the plants seem to be growing like crazy.... Compare the FTS with previous one from 5 weeks ago....

@Vissie....no secret... Good lighting, some Seachem Ferts and probably the "secret" is that I chose plants that I know to be aquatic.....

    - true that ...

Ooh and the fact that you are willing to wait and let the tank grow into itself.

@azurekoi is what I would label as a closet oracle .. willing to give anything a bash.

Not true @f-fish..... In over 3 decades of puttering round in this hobby - I have NEVER kept Oscars....lol

But true - knowing what the itty bitty plant in the LFS will look like as an adult and placing it in the correct place from the start also helps - "seeing" your scape 6 months down the line when you start it certainly helps....

Guess being on Holiday makes one play with your tanks more.... Was removing algae from "Algae Town" this morning, when my light over my paludarium finally went... Had a look and it was the bulb that blew. So set off to Pets Stop to go see if they have a replacement.... Been eyeing a tank there that has some Botia rostrata in for a while - admiring from afar really,as these guys normally costs an arm,leg and 2 front teeth...
Great was my surprise when I had a look at the price today... Only fricken R27!!! Needless to say, five of them is currently being dripped in as I write this...He,he..

B.rotrata is a peacefull Botiadid that grows to 20cm... Goes through the most amazing pattern change as they mature - from a barred juvie to a intricately patterned adult.... Thanx again @Pet Stop and Didi for finding us the fish that others just cant.....

I think one day when you clean that tank out you're gonna find things you did not even know you had :)
