As soon as some LFS does not have stock of something or is too lazy to order it, it automatically becomes invasive. I've had an experience like that before.

I know I'm generalizing, but I have seen this happen.

The moss wall is friggin awesome though!!! One of my wants!

Java moss is not on the black list.

I got some from a guy on the plant forum. He's got all those mosses and ships nationwide.

    Java moss

    Hi guys

Java moss is an invasive species on the revised invasive aquatic plant list in Gauteng (do not know other provinces) and any individual or LFS that are caught dealing in it are leaving them self open to prosecution.

PS - I love them and wish that this was not the currant status quo BUT I saw them taking over some of our river systems and it do not look good, so I do understand it.

There are plenty of other mosses, besides Java, so we'll just get some of those then.

    Update...

In summary, the moss wall has become an algae wall.

Algae seems to be thriving for some reason.... Cyano, hair algae etc
I am dosing CO2 but something is still not right.
Sunday I bought a small HOB filter to get the water flowing a bit so that i can rule out hydrodynamic dead spots.

Perhaps my quick and dirty lighting is not up to task and i need more watts... What do you peeps reckon?

I am fully open to suggestions, so feel free to add your 2c.

    Here are the pics...

Well, It's still looking pretty good though dude! I think you just need to get rid of the algae, and it will be cool!!

That little Cockatoo is awesome! Great colour!
