Hi Danelle. You are quite correct. I only had BBA when I got the plants and fish from you. I have since then hooked up 2x54w T5 lights so a lot more light. I think, and please dont take this the wrong way as I'm very very grateful for the plants and fish, the hair/staghorn algae is from the plants you gave me. I will go with DIY CO2 as soon as I have time to see how that helps. Marc
Marc, I hope that it's not the case but it could be. I'll bring along my bottle of algaway for you on Sat, because I'll never use it again. Thanks Ryno - your Cube is also amazing.
Dude, don't stress. I am not upset, if I did get it from your plants, as I now have a bunch of plants I never had. :top:
Last update before I leave tomorrow for a month. There will only be feeding and top-ups. Pics taken with phone
Holy Moses , that things a beauty, I really love this tank it's very lush :adore:. Mhmm... wonder where salty's go for a vacation
By "salty's", you mean English? Ek is Afrikaans, liewe aarde. We are driving up to Nylstroom, but stopping in Karoo and Bloem. The 1st of January, I am being picked up by a bus full of other schoolboys to go on the "Kalahari Vasbyt". Google that.
Hahaha, nee man, poor choice of words. I meant you guys next to the big salt dam eating fish all day . Sheesh, sounds tough and exciting at the same time. White water rafting, bungee jumping at the same bridge where somebody else's cord has snapped, hectic stuff. Kalahari Vasbyt for leadership When I was In school we had something simmilar, although less hectic. Whe went to a camp called: "Duin In Die Weg", next to the orange. We had to walk on high beams, foofie slide, go on night walks, raced in the dunes, climb rope nets, got attacked by a bee hive in thick bush, etc, etc. Lots of good times. What is the carpet plant's name in the middel of the tank, and the foreground plants to the right (looks like Echindorus Tennelus or dwarf sagg) Oh and I see your'e almost at a thousand posts, congrats arty:
Updaaate I recently got 2X A.agassizi and 4X A.panduro. They are still very small, but already beautiful!
Hey Dude. Your tank looks geart, I'm green with envy. I wan't to try this out on a 3 foot tank. (3 Foot cause I don't have space) And sorry to hijack you thread but do anyone know where I can get PFP in JHB? Later
Thank you Derik. The river tank in the pic is 3ft. Also nice but plan your scape and try to keep the scale of parts small so that the scape looks big. You'd be able to get PFP at any nursery or even builders warehouse. Just remember the Nutrifeed too. PFP on it's own is useless.
Funeral post for this tank: After I removed most of the plants I had this: And after a fe wminutes I had this.... Huuuge swords. Quite a few unused plants after the rescape.
Those swords look like something that came out of residential garden. The tank looked beautiful, so what happened to some of the fish and what are you planning next? Oh, and are those 2 SAE's that I see in the 4th last pic (one on the left amazon sword leaf and the other one in the front right corner), did they help with the BBA outbreak?
Haha yes the swords are big. They were already sold to someone in Gauteng. Look for my new thread, 4ft Community V2, the tank is rescaped. There's no SAE's in the tank. What you see is a Garra taeniata and a Penguin tetra at a strange angle.
