he he .. thanks - actually just paged back in the thread - two months to get to this point - but I do need to rescue the java ferns ... clearly they do not grow that fast as the rest of the stems.

I need to clean glass etc .. might do a short 2 minute video at some point.

It would be nice if you could get some red in there.

I'm not a plant expert, so could you please tell me what that huge plant at the right back with the curled/ruffled leafs is.

Nicolaas, I think I have an aponogeton crispus in the mix, not sure that is what you are seeing ..

Marius - when you have all up and running, drop me an IM might just coincide with a trim... think I have some rotale in the mix.

Bit heavy handed - next round will be replanting more of the stems. Yeah the blyxa actually did ok, I could divide and move them around a bit.

Ferdie, try increase the co2. I'm almost certain that will help your glosso carpet more evenly.

Thanks Sean, Sounds like a plan ... I have been hacking at the glosso want to replant it all in a few weeks time - taking a big strip out the front does not help for appearance.

This tanks has not seen any serious maintenance for a looooong while.

    4ft clear oct 05a.jpg

Also did my first eheim clean-out, what a pleasure.

    4ft clear oct 05b.jpg

BIG wc, but did not even try and vacuum the substrate.

    4ft clear oct 05c.jpg

Contemplating moving the middle stump to the left side of the tank and dropping some of the stems.

Will see what it looks like after a bit of a run, still need to clear some cuttings from the surface. Think I will need to do more regular fertz or add a good amount of root tabs.
