    Hehehe, ek blameer jou! ;)

    Watse tank het jy, lyk soos 'n pink lid, of is dit net die lig wat dit snaaks gevang het?

    I've noticed, didn't want to hijack your thread, but I'm reconsidering the edge thing... Might consider a Jebo/Boyu tank, what do you think?

    I would go for the boyu, Jebo - I havent seen the tanks for sale here in a while and boyu is the same price and I love their tanks.

    what temp is the tank? if you keep the temp of tank slightly cooler, the Christmas moss broadens its fronds...it will grow in higher temps but as you have seen, it grows long fine fronds

    Tank is kept at 25 deg. Ironically my brother keeps his tank at that and his xmas moss grows like yours :p I suspect its my lights tho. Just waiting for new lights.

    @Wyvren, Awesome tank, love the growth it seems to be pretty quick. In the full picture of your tank you have some form of stem plant with spiky leaves planted on the rhs? I saw it or something very similar by @duewyne yesterday and he didn't know what it is or even where it had come from. I like the look of it though. What root tabs are you using?

    Thanks @Deem and @Skye01 - Skye - are you talking about the one in the rhs back? It is the Rotala Nanjeshun (Double check my spelling first :p). I have managed to finally get a hold of Grolux T5 8W bulbs that fit my tank! So I have taken one cool white out and added the growlux. Still deciding if I should ad both of them or not, simple reason not to is to keep the growth more manageable. I had to trim the Rotala and Ludwiga again today. Altho I dont complain since I am using the new growth in the comp tank :p

    Hi @Wyvren,

    Your tank looks awesome!

    Where did you get the light bulbs from as I think I have a similar tank ?

    @gdt78 - I asked Altum to get me some - they are not cheap but its oh so worth it. I will take pics tonight so you can see the difference. I will also get the details off the bulbs. I am keeping one spare one for incase and am already reconsidering getting a few more. Especially since the difference it has made is huge. Not so much to the naked eye - tank looks a bit darker, the plants look healthier tho and they seem to love the grolux.

    Hi @Wyvren,

    The tank for which I want to improve the lights on is a Jebo R338. it comes stock standard with two little fluorescent tubes.

    I were considering removing them & installing two energy saver light bulbs with the mounting brackets.

    @Altum,

    Are you also situated in cape town ?

    He is in the cape yes. I was going to go the same way your thinking but I have a knack of screwing up anything electronic (except my pc) that I fiddle with so I decided not to do that just yet. You can also consider just going for T8's. There are a large range of them in the correct size for the tank. I have the same tank and the original lights started fading on me, I found some cheap cool white lights but only 4000k that worked but my plant growth slowed down (not really a bad thing tho :p) Since Altum is helping my brother out with his new tank I figured I would just ask and see if he could source some T5's for the tank. And I was lucky. Send him a pm, its worth it.
