Seeing some good new growth from the past two weeks ... wonder if the red led strip played a part in it.

Looking good Ferdie. Definitely think the red light has helped... plants need more red to grow.

LFS at lifestyle in Randburg got a new display tank yesterday.

They have had these plants in the normal tanks for a few weeks and they just did not appeal to me, but once they got moved into the new display I just had to buy some ... all of these are now in 36 degrees.

I hear you VIS, does seem a bit seasonal, but Lifestyle has for the past few weeks had probably some of the best stock I have seen, with the new shipment next week, I am sure it will be epic. Since I am on DIY LED's my growth is very very slow. Have actually not done any serious trimming of any of my anubia.

ADA at its best after doing the removing stuff needs to clear a bit.

Stunning tank.... your plants look so beautiful and healthy...
Your second last photo, the plant on the right forming a clump that looks like an ornamental grass, please could you tell me what it's called...

Thanks guys - yeah rather pleased with the progress esp after adding the red LED things seem to have picked-up a bit.

No clue on the name - I got a way way back as a throw-out form a fellow member.

Here is a larger shot if you want to go dig for the name.

tank was looking better this morning ... but will need to give it a bit more time I thing. Corrie cats have been at it uprooting some of the plants.

Hi Ferdie, the grass-like clump, is it a stem or does it send out runners?

Morning Lindy, loads and loads of runners. I have never done any serious trimming other than remove runners, do wonder if giving it a hair-cut is an actual option.

Gary the biggest issue with these LED is heat - do not over extend them, rather add more strips.

He he .. wish this was my office, I am back to my desk tomorrow - no fish tanks allowed I am afraid. But do have an LFS in walking distance if I need a quick fix.
