LOl - you guys and girls .. buce is like anubia in theory they are easy to grow, lets see. I will have to up my game a bit and ensure BBA does not get onto them, that is a near death sentence.

I am actually thinking of trying my hand at doing some cultivation in this tank. First I need to get a more efficient water polisher that I and add my 4 year old purigen to.

It's weird, when I got the buce from you - it had some BBA on the leaf edges but somehow it's been slowly dying off. Most of it has gone now. I'm not sure what I am doing right except dosing macros/micros twice a week - still dosing Scape Liquid Carbon 3 / 4 times a week. Maybe it's the low PH in the water (comes out at 6.8 from the tap, mind you this is river water straight from the pump and looking quite brown in my bath lol) or my lighting period has been shortened to 6 hours (4 in the morning, 2 at night) and this is medium-high led lighting.

Oh add to this, buce is much easier than anubias. Anubias grows much slower than buce from what I've noticed with mine.

100% once you get the BBA to start dying it shoots back into growth mode.

Agree, some buce should grow faster than anubia, what and how well will have to wait and see.

Oh well, I'm hoping the BBA will die and not come back *hold thumbs*.

Read an interesting post about citric acid and algae - might give that a bash.

Tanks is looking OK no melting yet.

Some leaves are pushing out .. but this must have started been before I planted these.

Snails on patrol ... hmm not sure if they are taking small bites out of the buce.

Did not DIY a new filter, unearthed the aquaclear - packed it just with batting and the purigen - this stuff is old but I am amazed how well it works, why did I stop using it I wonder.
I am licking the pebble thing again - also not sure why I stopped doing that. Have some space in the front, maybe cleanup the anibias a bit - remove dead leaves etc.

Maybe it is due to the licking that the buce are doing so good.

This should be a good baseline for growth compares.

ok on some I am seeing new leaves - but they do not count, only the next leaf will be a true hello SA tank news - sadly I am also seeing some yellowing, never a good sign on the older leaves.

Best of all - new root tips.

I read an interesting thing about buce growing, the OP claimed that you increased the survival rate if you share photo's regularly about the buce growing. Who am I to argue such wisdom?

LOL I thought you said talking to the plants help their survival rate :p

BTW those buces are looking really good. Are you dosing with liquid carbon?

Nope - just purigen in the HOB with extra flow being provided by the HOB.

Hopping they will survive, they need to settle into a low / no maintenance tank now.

Not doing too bad, a few yellowing leave - but that is also OK.

Does posting regular photos increase the survival rate of the Buce, or the owner?
With regular postings envy and jealousy could grow, and that could lead to a decrease in the survival rate of the owner.

Ha ha ha ... did not think of that, hmm maybe I need to setup an automated post just in case the owner does not make it?

ok, @f-fish: I suggest you do weekly doses of Scape Liquid Carbon as it actually does help with growth. Could be why mine are doing so well - I do mine around 3/4 times a week but try to keep it to 3 doses and nothing on the weekend before I do water changes.

Was thinking about adding the disinfectant as the carbon source, but it really is not my go-to for my tanks. I would rather see slower growth that can work in any of my tanks than extra leaves and then a melt when I move them along.

Lets see, my story could change in a few weeks.

No pics - well I have but ja I understand, you will just have to believe me - the Buce are still doing OK, seeing more and more new roots being pushed, kinda what I really want at this stage, hope they grip those rocks like gum in your hair, just at a sower pace, like 3 - 4 months.
