300 litre Tank fix

    Not necessarily... when my tank was redone ( didnt have the guts to do it myself) old silicone was scraped off with a blade and covered with new glass strips that were siliconed in.
    you can see the before pic below on the left, the after on the right has a 12mm X 12mm strip. and it give it much more support.

    Let me know if you want me to put you in contact with the guy that did it for me. if you have the glass.. it wont cost you much

    i also saw this silicone remover paste at builders.. but not sure how it works.. maybe check it out

    So finally (!) have got around to sorting out this tank. Cleaned up all the seams really nicely. Just re siliconed everything today. And now I read that the seams just stop leaks and it’s the silicone between the panes that actually hold the thing together.

    I’m pretty sure I got my blade in between the panes a bit while I was doing this.

    Do I have to redo this all?

    Should be fine, as long as its not too long a cut.

    Give the tank a week or so test and see if it holds, best to use a flat surface outside xD
