    You just gave me an idea... My pH is high, and until now I had no idea why that was... Now I do. Bloody rocks.

    I'm taking them out tonight!

    RIP Gold Deacon, Green Deacon, Fire Eel, Gourami and Polypterus... They did not live to see the lowered pH...

    Don't give up so soon dude! We have all made mistakes at some stage. Also your tank is too small for malawi's anyway.
    Just source some replacement rocks and do the vinegar test on them before adding to the tank.

    Ya, I'm just waiting for a small cash injection and then I'll be sorting the tank out....I am still very keen on Rams, so I reckon I'll do that.

    When you get some replacement rocks pour some vinegar over it. If you get a reaction ie. bubbling it is not suitable.
