It definately does. I was also advise against a dark substrate, but I must admit I am chasing a look.
I am gona try the caribsea eco-complete ... it has nice coarse particles on top and then a thin subtrate at the bottom [ATTACH][ATTACH]...

Altum has told me that i need to add subtrate and will do so this tomorow. Its a quaratime tank hence me wanting to keep it bare bottom.

My male could be about 20mm or so but my female is tiny, could be 15mm. Concerned about feeding etc... Quite easily bullied by my rummy nose tetra.
