I have some black mollies with a black background, really not cool.
Years ago I had some of them in gravel ind they grew like crazy, without any special treatment. If I remembered correctly, I had an under gravel...

I am still in the process of deciding what to do with my third tank, paint it black or leave it like that.
Two of my tanks have black backgrounds and I love it, my third has no background and I can see the brick wall behind my tank. Love that as well.
