I have 3 loaches that will do better in another tank, plus the garra rufa and a garra taeniata. I can ship but it will have to be 2 bags. I'm sure...
Nope - still have it, and two others which can also go. But catching them now in the river tank will be a nightmare.
They went free-swimming on 2012-08-21.

I use Dechlorinator (wich removes heavy metals too) and DSD water hardener because the cape water is too soft for plants. Pushes it up to about 4...

Man. They are magnificent. Thank is looking amazing, so overgrown and all. Only problem is that there's a lot less swimming space. And less water...
How DO you switch it off? I think you just have to aerate the tank with an airstone at night to get the CO2 out.
Plant them deeper. P (Phosphorous) is the root maker. Make sure you have adequate NPK in the tank for the plants. Do not use lead - it's dangerous.

You never know when too much iron is dissolved in the water.
No don't put iron in direct contact with the water. Nails in the substrate is fine. Stainless steel bolts will be the best.
