    I am looking for filter media for a koi pond gravity type filter. Normal low density foam or sponge clogs up to fast. I have seen "Matala"...

    Thanks Tracy, Yeah, according to the other forum it might be a Damsel Fly larvae, and apparently not a welcome bug in the tank to have.

    One can also use something like Ceratopteris thalictroides (Indian water fern) to float. Don't know if its black listed.
