One of the biggest maintenance issues on this tank over the last two years, was the spray bar. Since the splash is the way the rest of the tank...
So aeration in a tank happens mostly on the water's surface - this is why I wanted to get some circulation of the surface going. Had some duckweed...

I suspect the Citric Acid when dipped for the correct time, will kill the algae ... from what I have seen you do not need anything to "remove" it...

Not sure if Nutriplex is still on the market, I have had zero issues with it, but did find that it worked best with small daily dosing and CO2...
