I was at my lfs this weekend and the had one of these for sale.
Did a bit of research, and discovered that they are a fairly rare African puffer.

I appreciate that one doesn't see them on offer very often
But the price tag: £475 (R10,000)!
And that is for a fish that gets to 10cm!

Crazy price. I wonder what drives the price on these kind of fish?

For that price I can buy a new tank or upgrade my lights. A bit steep for 1 fish. Sounds like it comes from the Congo. I am sure if you really love them you will find a way to pay for that guy.

Very little info on them but it appears they only occur in one area and there isn't even enough info on them to classify them in terms of their status, very rare it seems. But yeah, 10k for a fish.. eish

Yes, I think it is from the Congo.

That is more expensive than most marines!

Just did a bit of research on that puffer... seems they are one of the most docile puffers and can go with pretty much any tankmates except their own kind and inverts... and haven't been seen in the trade for 20 years! I'd pay that if I could afford it  Imagine a Congo river biotope-ish tank with one of these...

Somebody is making a lot of money off this fish, and I'm pretty sure it ain't the dude who fished it out of the water in the Congo...
