    Hi all

Eish, and as if @Jack Stone did not warn me... Brichardi babies... Must be at least 20+ of them. Two adults and one semi-adult standing guard over them. All is still calm and luckily the other tankmates keep away from the rock pile on the left as a rule, so all is calm. Lets hope it stays that way until next week when I can make a plan with another tank!

    Howzit!

Congrats re. the spawning, says you're doing something right at least.

Now you're in a race against time though.
The Brichardi will expand the territory they claim in order for their fry to roam (the territory) freely and find food.

Its very likely they will kill off any fish who can't find territory elsewhere - have you been watching your tank (too) carefully today ? Everybody have space for themselves?

If you can take the Brichardi home and stick them in a 60cm in the garage until you've got a bigger tank - do it!
You don't want to play on borrowed time, these fish are known to kill tank mates when they start spawning, and they do it extremely effectively!

Will you be there on Saturday and Sunday to check them out?

    Cheers,
    Jack

Hi @Jack Stone nope dont have a tank set up but doing so with the only one I have this weekend which is a 40 liter, will have to do for now... Just bought more large tanks but still working on the stand... I will have to dismantle my entire scape to catch these buggers!!! They seem to stick to one side and the rest to the other side - no sign of agro as yet.. Will come in over the weekend to check it out (bought a new car for my wife yesterday so looking forward to these trips and fetching milk )

Ok so last weekend I had to make a quick plan and remove the Brichardi's form the tank - they are now at home in a 60 liter for now... Left one in the tank for it's looks.

Had to remove most rocks and with some nifty innovations with a devider finally managed to catch them. The fry was gone by this time, no idea but probably the calvus got them.

This gave me the opportunity to rescape off course as all the different rock piles will now not be so crucial.

Combined the two piles on the left into one and tried to create a little bay... Need a few more rocks I think..

This is what it looks like now:

and the new additions: 28 cyprichromis leptosoma from @Jack Stone

The calvus are also colouring up nicely:

Looking good man! Much prefer the rock scape as it is now. Though I thought you could remove a few more from the left pile, maybe just that big Brown one furthest right, stand it up straight against left glass?

    Thanks @GavinD

Received my Neothauma shells this weekend, 60 of them. Luckily they made it halfway around the world without being broken!!

Wanted to put them in the tank today but with the power outage there is no messing around...

From a German Tanganyika exporter/supplier. Shells are 1 Euro each (and postage another 50 Euro!!!) Luckily my wife was on business in germany and they posted it to her hotel for only 5 Euro but it was touch and go, arrived a few hours before she left... I want to get some more as well but hell it is expensive... I have a feeling the 60 shells will just disappear in my tank...
