    Hi all

    Have anyone bought any fish from Aquabid in the past?? There are very nice guppies for sale which they will ship internationally.

    I know the freight is for minimum 100kg of fish. But....I don't want to import for resale but for my own breeding setup.

    I know I must get permit from Cape Nature and DAFF to import live stock

    Any advise would be appreciated

    Nick

    I looked into getting Rainbows here. Biggest problem is the freight charges. Shipping 1 fish or 100kg of fish will cost you the same. Some of the suppliers actually have a minimum order that needs to be filled before they will ship. I will never be able to hold or resell 300 rainbowfish even if I wanted too

    @Nick,
    This has come up a few times recently.

    Unfortunately I don't think it's really feasible to import livestock yourself.

    As @Pierré Schoonraad says, the freight charges and minimum orders will make it unfeasible.
    It's not really an option for the average hobbyist

    And I also believe it isn't that easy obtaining the necessary permits

    Get to know a shop owner and add your shipment to theirs. Know one here that said he'll do it for me if I wanted too.

    Might help @BoelderBeestie but if it's the rare stuff you need to be good at convincing them that getting 200 fish of which 20 is a dednit sales isn't easy.

    Yeah but at least you can skip the permit that way. 100kg, that's a lot of fish.
