A while back I got some Amanos from a LFS in Randburg.Someone asked me if I will be breeding them so at that time I dismissed the thought due to everyone saying it's near impossible.Im sitting with a couple of berried females and so I have reconsidered and thought I should give it a shot, got nothing to loose right? I've started to prepare for coming events, received breeding reports from German folks and the help of someone locally, and I'm marching on full of hopes...i don't think I'll be successful the first time but hey let's try!!....maybe just maybe.....
    They are currently housed here.......

Very nice. Go for it. If it doesn't work you would have learned from it and do it right second time around

    Congratulations.
Now for the wait, and to see if you are successful in raising them.

This batch is from 1 female.Still have 2 attempts left for now.I'll vary on some techniques to see what works,if it's going to work.

Use a torch or small light at night to slurp them up :)

Also, keeping them under some sort of light 24/7 gives good algal growth for food, like here with a 3W gu10 to the right of the tank. Shrimp love it:IMG_20180508_182522.jpgIMG_20180508_181230_1.jpg
Then I've also read up on the stages, once the "shrimps" metamorphosize the last time they'll behave like real shrimp and run from a net as shrimp do, as well as sitting on the walls and everything.

Good luck my man! I got the wrong amanos, aka wild brown caridina of which I only have some babies left at this point. Will you be selling/trading the babies? I'd love a few :)

Another female dropped her zoes yesterday so batch 2 has been moved to marine tank. Its good to see the difference in size of the zoes between batch 1 and 2,about double in size so they are growing wich keeps me positive.

I have been wondering what a Amano Zoe looks like. Some examples can be found on the net but nothing as close to what i want to see.Back in the day when breeding Tarantulas I had a microscope that I used for sexing Tarantulas.Anyways long storie short my curiosity killed me tonight and I dug up the old microscope, dusted it off and fired it up..Got a 2mm 7 day old Zoe,stuck my phone to the lense and to my surprise actually got some nice shots....
