    About 3 ottos in each, nerite snails (1 large or 3-5 small types in each).

    @Swerwer

    Algae eaters get quite big and not really suitable for small tanks

    They also tend to turn aggressive as they get big

    Rather go with Ottos as mentioned and bristlenose plecos also stay a manageable size, are peacefull and do a good job of cleaning up

    As suggested Otocinclus and Nerites.
    If there are no shrimp in the tank you can add Siamese Algae Eaters.
    They do get aggressive as they grow older though, but nothing like the Chinese Algae Eaters, that I have witnessed eating guppies.
    Ancistrus (Bristlenose Pleco) remain reasonably small at about 15cm, but they need driftwood in the tank, and absolutely love eating holes into Amazon Sword leaves.

    Otos are great. Nerites produce metric tonnes of feces so not always the best :eek:

    Otos are great but need to go into a mature tank though. Anything less that 6 months and they just don't seem to last.
    Bristlenose are great for algae when they're young. As adults they are past useless. I have the same complaint with our Siamese algae eaters. They worked hard when they were small.
    My issue with nerites is that you exchange algae for rock hard eggs all over your hardscape.
    You could try Amano shrimps. My brother-in-law had great success. My wife had none. His tank is smaller though, which might be where the difference lies.

    Had 3 cherry shrimps in withe the mollies and beloon mollies and swortails and the shrimp did not make 4 days. If it came out of hiding the fish zone in on them and then it is dab news for the shrimp.

    Cool. Otos are social creatures so a minimum of 3 for them to be happy.

    Nerites - I count the biomass of a large type nerite (eg zebra) as equal to 1 adult platy. For the small types (eg horned) it’s much lower, probably like a neon. They earn their keep though! I haven’t had nerite eggs yet in about 8 months of keeping them, but yes apparently the eggs are sticky and difficult to remove from hardscape.
