@Reedfish with regards to the lockdows imposed. I look at it from the point of view of the healthcare facilities needing assistance. The only way we can do this is by not getting infected and by staying home we have less chances of becoming ill. So I'm not for the lockdowns and without a doubt hate that we're now confined to our homes when the law is passed. But imagine the virus starts spreading rapidly again like before, things will undoubtedly become way more than we can handle. I do admit that our hospitals are better equipped now to manage an influx of patients than they were back in march 2020 but it's really necessary that we maintain this. By us putting strain on them we're only going to leave ourselves over inundated healthcare facilities who need to work twice as hard to give us just the basic care we need. This is just my understanding and I could be wrong in this.

    I have heard this argument…..

So going forward do we spend at least 4 months every year in lockdown ?
My business has been all but wrecked. My kids will prob have a 3rd school year compromised. As has happened to literally millions of other people.

And as you have pointed out, it’s mainly the un/anti vaxxed ending up in hospital

Something very wrong with this scenario.

To be honest, from a business point of view and I too suffered the brunt of this, still on the road to recovery and to be honest some of my best paying clients too have faced some difficulty with their finances and I understand exactly how that affects us all.

Both my kids are in schools too and affected by this but I think this is something we have to learn to adapt to and just try and give them as much as we can in terms of assisting them. I think we got too used to leaving it in the hands of the teachers and schools, just need to step it up a little and that hurdle can be crossed.

With regards to the lockdowns imposed, I think it will eventually die down, like each lockdown has been shorter than the last in most places so I'm pretty sure this will continue in the same fashion giving us way to recover financially. I do believe that economies were terribly affected and this is all the motivation countries need to try and lessen the "need" for lockdowns. I'm a realist and judging by the time of the year in which most people are on leave, this is 2 scenarios I can think of:
1 the person is already on leave or shut down for the holidays, this means his work will not be affected if anything it would be less affected than it would any other month.
2 the person on leave will now want to do things he couldn't all year or for the last 2 years for that matter and this will mean going out or socialise more which increases the possibility of infection. I look at it in this angle, an average family is say 4 people, that means every one infection has the possibility of being 4. I can tell you for sure in my home the way we interact and live, if one of us gets infected, certainly all of us would. So limiting that chance of one is indeed saving 4.

Once again this is my opinion solely and I am not in any way saying that thinking differently makes you any less or more than I am. Also, I am emphasising the above statement because I know what a touchy subject this is and has caused many heated heads in the past and i would hate if I added to that on here too. You guys and gals are without a doubt the best group of people who know just how not to make drama
