So a while ago I put my Java/Cape moss at the base of my Brazilian Sword but now it’s pretty much growing on and around the Sword.

So I wanted to know does the java/Cape Moss have any 'strangling' properties? As in will it kill the sword if it grows up the stems?

Java moss does tend to "bush" into a wild cloud. It won't strangle anything, but it might overshadow the sword eventually. You can trim it as hard as you like... it's pretty much indestructible.
