    Hi all

    I will be getting some Zeolite in bulk but it is way too much for me to use in the short term...

    Normally a 400 gr bag sells for R60

    If I by bulk we can probably get it at less than half that price but you will need to take say 3 kg's to make it worth while...

    Who's in?

    Hi @Mike Roos yes it removes amonia amongst other things but also chemicals, meds etc.. How long is a piece of string? Don't really know how long it lasts but I change mine every few months...

    I once considered using it at one point, but it wasn't economical, so didnt get it in the end.

    How long will it last? Depends on the quality of your water. The more dissolved pollutants, the quicker it will get used up.

    @Reedfish that is why I want to buy bulk. :) I have read that the commercial Koi producers in the East use it almost exclusively as a media...

    @francoisve,

    Yup, bulk buys does make it cheaper. But still worked out quite costly.
    Can't remember the exact £ numbers. But I have a fairly big tank, so would have needed quite a bit.

    Hi guys. I have a question. If this removes ammonia, does it not starve the biological media? I know products like seachem prime do not remove ammonia but make it nontoxic to fish. Your thaughts?

    @dash and others interested
    I think you will find detailed info to help ,from 5years ago
    in this thread
    and this one
    @francoisve , you CAN buy in smaller quantities, for your own use .. sources are pool filter shops, or their suppliers
    All cheaper than lfs, and equal if not superior quality!
