    Hey everyone
i got a wooden piece of bark of a farm.
Should i wash it and then let it dry and then put a layer of see through silicon over the bark so it does'nt do something to my water. Any ideas on what to do.
    Thanks

well then i think every one will be cautious to put it in a tank, the best option is to boil it for a long time to rid it of all the tannins in it that will discolour ur water

i would be very weary of what wood i put in my tank....there are a lot of poisonous trees out there and still poisonous when dead...

its up to you really, if you want to take the risk.

I wouldn't risk it either.Unless i know from what tree the bark is.
And then i'll google it to see if it is poisonous.

Silicon won't bond to the wood. It will eventually peel off.
