    Hey Fish Peeps

I found this piece of wood in a local charity shop and wanted to use it for my new tank-but i have some concerns. Its very light and doesn't seem to want to become waterlogged. Before I give up on it and use it as a piece of garden decor I though I'd ask if you guys know what this is and wether I should keep trying to soak it.

It’s a beautiful piece of wood that would look stunning in a tank, can see why you would want to use it!
But that soft part on the last pic has me worried too...

If it is light it is most likely not a hardwood, all this means is that it will rot away over time, it is a nice piece of wood, If it were me, I would rub off those really soft spots with a brush, let it dry, use aquarium silicon to glue it to a piece of glass that you can cover with substrate to keep it down, or a rock...whatever then soak it for a while and put it in the tank
