Wood to be used in tanks?

What type of wood can be used in tanks? And anyone know where I can find it for my tank (want for my pleco's) in the vaal area? I've looked at so many places

 

Lorinza... unfortunately the very few LFS's in our area dont really stock anything nice which is sad..
I have given up on them..

The closest
is probably Kenilworth Aquariums/Aquarium Center in Kenilworth or taking a weekend drive to the East Rand..

 

Thank u , its horrible and not fair! It's like South Africa isn't even half way where other places are. Thank you I think I should really take a drive over a weekend sometime

 

lol - no no we are doing OK, sure at 3x the price but have so much more than 3 - 5 - 10 years ago in the hobby.

Many moons ago I used to drive to lollilocks ... they used to bring in BAGs of the stuff - not sure what game they are in these days.

I agree with you Ferdie.. just our side of the world ( Meyerton, Vereeniging, Vanderbijlpark) there are probably.. 3 LFS's in this whole area and basically cater for dogs.. cats.. birds..
and just the bare essentials for fish.. none of the nice things you find elsewhere

So yes... if you want to find nice things and variety of fish, we need to drive out to Jhb or the East Rand and even Pretoria
We do it all the time but we just on the outskirts of Alberton, Lorinza is much further away

 

I just want to say THANK YOU, I contacted Kenilworth and they have everything I want from wood to the fish. ill be going there when my tank is cycled then I can get everything I want at once.
