Hi I want to start my breeding as a commercial and start breeding thousands of guppies.
I now this is a big step but I also want to do it cheaply so any ideas.
    The best way and cheapest.

    where do u live?

if u in the KZN where its warm all year, dig some ponds!

fill with guppies and plants to hide in and TADA, loads and loads of guppies!

a quick example of this is when my friend didnt want his guppies and he put 5 of them in the uni fountain! hundreds appeared after just a few months.. we wanted to see if they'd survive the winter, but the gardeners poured hth to kill them off one day :(

well if i were u, i'd get maybe 3 tanks.. size obviously depending on how much u want to breed.. 1st tank for adults, 2nd for grown up juveniles, and 3rd for the really small juveniles.. ie, the ones that were just born..

in the juveniles tank i'd have some of those floating guppy breader contraptions to ensure that the mother is separated from her babies..

also, if i'd want to cheap out, i'd just get sponge filters..safe for babies and good for filtration.. heaters are essential as well..

The fry tank can also be specially modified. Divide the entire in hald (top half divided from the bottom half) with glass/perspex shaped in a V. Put the mothers in the top half, and the fry will fall through the v into the bottom half. Only issue here is maintenance. You'd need to make it in such a way that you'd be able to do general maintenance on the bottom half. You'd ideally also like small holes drilled through the dividers to allow for free movement of water!
