Who would be interested in Apistogramma Cacatuoides? (Dwarf Cockatoo Double Red)

Morning Everyone!

Some of you may already know that I have been in search of these fish.

I managed to find someone able to import them for me, but we will have to order a whole box for which I, however much in love with the fish, do not have space.

I would just like to test the waters and find out who else would be interested in these little fish. It would probably be in the region of R100 to R150 a fish.

For those not familiar with them, this is what they look like:

 

they are fairly common now,R150 is a bit steep

This particular coloration I have not been able to find. Other Cockatoo do sell at some store for around R50 - R100 a fish. One of our sponsors told me I'm looking at more than R300 a pair - they are still trying to source me some!

Don't import guys we can get them here I unfortunately just lost my female and am collecting a new female next week I should have fry in a couple weeks, or I can see what my suppliers got...
I will post a pic of my male tomorrow...or check my profile pic that was my last male before he pegged!

 

i know dory pets had a stack a while back , have u tried them?

Hey there no not yet, but must be honest I have not really tried too hard as I am extremely busy at the moment! Hmm let me SMS Joe and see what's happening

 

Joe is a local breeder, he is like half that price.

I managed to get my hands on two pairs of Apistos, alas, not the double red variety.

I will ask my contact if they would be willing to take pre-orders and then import a box. I'm sure there won't be any problem selling the stock but I understand the risks involved for them. I haven't been able to trace a local supplier / breeder yet.

 

Cool, a pity they're not double red. Are they breeding?

I'm moving in a month, I'll consider a pre order after the move if you can arrange something like that
