    Dont worry but you can save betta
    Which other fish into tank or she is solo?

    try go slow to high temperatures can cause ich to burst and add salt.
    best 29-30'C temp for week then raise temp slow down and back normal temp. do twice days water change 10-15%

    Other fish in my tank are not suitable for this Betta i know but going to move him today.
    I have 4 Black neons
    4 white clowds
    2 Baby angelfish
    3 bala sharks
    4 Glass fish
    & a few guppies
    Not all the fish in there is compatible i know but going to move the smaller fish soon to another tank.

    Good day Wynie, the best way to deal with ich is as suggested by raising the water temp gradually to 30 deg and maintain it for a duration of 10 days. During this stage do a 10% water change daily and make sure that the water you ad is the same temp as your aqaurium temp. Do a garvel sweep as well to get rid of any ich parasites and parasite embrios that have fallen off your fish. Try not to add salt as all fish are not tolerant to it. After the 10 day cycle gradually lower the temp back to normal temp og between 24 - 27 deg. As to bala sharks be carefull for keeping them as they can grow up to sizes of 3 ft and are school type of fish. To keep a happy school you have to keep a minimum of 5. Pet shop owners usually do not tell people this when purchasing bala sharks. Hope the info will be usefull. What size aqaurium do you have.

    The tank is about 200L im thinking of putting some of the fish up for adoption as i want to keep the fish that is compatible with the angels as they are my fav fishes in the tank.

    Just need to keep in mind that angels belong to the cichlid family if you are looking into compatibility of fish.

    Hi guys & girls

    The betta didnt make it & some of the other fish is also showing signs of ich now i need to do some desperate measures.
    I was wondering if i can eliminate all ich in the system if it will stay a problem that keeps coming back or will frequent water changes prevent this?
    And also should i replace all materials in my canister filter?
    I was also thinking of changing my gravel to silica sand to give a more sea sand kind of look, maybe this would be a good time.

    Please what comments can you guys add to this?

    Sorry for the loss. You must remember the cycle of ich. Treatment goes on even if there is no visible sighs on the fish because the ich is then in a different stage of its life. Ich can only be killed in the free swimming stage and then you cant see it. We heat the water to speed up the cycle to get them in the free swimming stage so that we can kill it. The free swimmer will die if the find no host, but if they do the cycle starts over again. treatment might go threw 2 full cycles befor it is totally killed. No need to change media in the canister.

    Keep up the water changes. If you have a bad case you might consider using meds like Flagyl. I try to stay away from meds as far possible but somethimes its the only way.

    Ok thanks. Do you think I should put all the fish in another tank to remove the "Hosts"?

    Hi tom.K

    I might be stubborn but its a life choice. I would not be the victim of multy billion dollar companies making you take meds just to give you more meds to counter the side effects of the first meds. But yes. When im properly sick i do take meds but not for any running nose or headace.

    The resistance people have is obvious.

    If you keep you tank without fish for 2 weeks at a high temp this shopuld remove all ich.

    Go-Big, I respect your choice. It is just as if people want to enforce their choice on others, by withholding info or just not talk about it, while promoting their choice. I saw it in the other thread as well. Flagyl is also not a money making scheme. It is dirt cheap. I personally used it and the ich disappeared like mist before the son, with no side effects whatsoever. But I do not want to fight about it. I hate fighting with each other, so sorry for offending you. :)

    @Wynie
    If you move the fish to another tank, you will just spread the disease, as you can not always see it.

    @Anine

    Yes, you need a script. Your vet will help.
