you've ever heard while browsing around in a pet store?
I was oggling some of the beautiful new imports at pet stop next to a small, very chatty child. She was initially fascinated by the banjo catfish (it's all SPIKEY!) and then turned around and saw the discus. She spotted a good sized yellow/orangey coloured one (forgive me, I'm ignorant about discus colours) and squealed: "IT LOOKS LIKE A MANGO!!!!"

What people say in a petshop is often a combination of comedy and tradgedy!! People wanting to buy clownfish, cause it will look good with guppies.... that type of stuff......

I think it's worse when, 5 times in a day, you hear adults saying "Yes, and I would like a nemo for my tank". Apparently even us salespeople aren't allowed to beat some sense into them.

    Also, customers asking:
"Where can I buy some chlorine for my fishtank?"
    "I want the eels"
"Why doesn't my oscar like my neons?"
"I've been doing this for years, why are my fish dying now?"
"It is an outrage that you won't sell fish from your display tanks"

That's from me working in the fish department. But the most golden line I've ever heard?

"I want my money back. You didn't warn us that this dog would bark."

One of the guys at the lfs I frequent was busy doing a waterchange when a customer asked him if he worked there...... (don't customers in the lfs where you live do waterchanges for the shop?) Any case..... the stupidness of the question with him not being a morning person and it being early lead him to answer: "No, they cut of my water and I just came to fetch some coffee water....".

The customer asking the stupid question then showd his stupidness again by reporting the employee to the shop owner.....

My worst one was: Woman walks in and ask me: "Why did my goldfish's skeleton come out of it's body? " I'm more than a bit puzzled and ask her a couple of questions wich leads to the truth... her Goldfishbowl had lots of Algae on the sides(She had it in the kitchen window)...so she poured some Handy Andy on a kitchen scrubber and wiped it off....WITH fish still in tank....

Needless to say what happened to poor fishy.... and I came the closest I have EVER been to physically assaulting a woman in my life....

    Ok, this one was me........

I go to a lfs I hadn't been to before. There were some nice adult Angels in a tank, and the label said "Ass Angels £10."

So I go and ask the man that worked there, "What sort of Angels are Ass Angels? Any different to normal Angels? Etc."
Man says to me...Ass means Assorted.
    Doh. :embarrest:
I can hear him chuckling behind me as I walk away in shame. :embarrest:

Mine would be at home actually. I had a large fire eel and when my maid saw it she passed out screaming and then ran out and refused to comeback into the house until I covered the fish tank. She always stayed 2 meter away from the tank

Mine would be at home as well. I had a bristlenose pleco that would suck on the glass as is the habit of plecos. I also have a little dog that is very curious. Often the dog used to stand on his hind legs licking the glass with the pleco on the other side. Sadly the pleco died and I havent replaced it. Its probably a good thing as I am fairly sure the glass would eventually get a hole in it from the pleco sucking and dog licking the same spot consistently.

" Also Micro Bubbles are everywhere in water.
Fish and plants can't live without micro bubbles, it's how they breath."

Nother one that drove me batty when the "uninformed" view show grade koi worth thousands of rands: " Can you eat them?" .... My usual reply was: " Yes Mam/Sir...but they are pets... Would you eat your Maltese?" that usually got me a few odd looks...he,he
