What's the best place in JHB to buy accessories?

Hi to the forum

Have stalked the forum for a while now, recently registered, but been keeping tropical fish for a number of years.

Was curious as to where people in JHB buy their tropical fish gear?
Everything from tank ornaments, to pumps, filter medium, water additives etc etc?
Or is there somewhere online that's even cheaper?

I'm in Blairgowrie, Randburg.

I like to have some sort of relationship with my local aquarium shops. I can recommend Aqua Empire (just the other side of N1 in Randpark Ridge). Cabin Aquarium has recently moved to Randburg, Blairgowrie. Both are great and helpful.

Lifestyle Pet Hyper in the Lifestyle Garden Centre have a large selection of equipment, but they are little too impersonal for my taste.

Extravagant Pets is also in Blairgowrie and they are okay.

Monkey Fountain nursery sell fish and equipment, but they are expensive and so I avoid them.

Aqua Empire are good. Elsewise Family Pet Centre / Petworld XXL in Fourways are good for some meds and equipment, sometimes get good stock too. Jungle Aquatics Fourways side is also good.

Definitely! I have bought numerous aquariums, fish, etc. there over years. I can remember when they were Kenilworth Pets in Main Street, Turffontein back in the 1980's. They were my go-to shop when I lived in the south and for many years thereafter.
