he wasnt eating but was swiming properlly still and doing his thing and that night i got hom i couldnt found him lifted up one of my cave rocks and found him lying side ways labouring for breath , he wasnt bloated i did notice like a red dot near his side fin dunno if thats natural colouration needless to say he passed away soon after that. none of of my other fish have ahd any issues so yea very unsure . im not sure if he was just a little to beaten up from the other gourami. so maybe he was just sick and i should re attempt to have one or look at other fishes. the Tank is a 60L with a fair ammount of plants in it :)

    To summarise - It's a planted 60l with 4 cory's, 5 tetra (neons?) and a single male gourami?

@KennyG, not cool dude, i feel for you, probably he did sustain a lot of damage from being harassed by the other gourami as we discussed in your other thread... how are your other fish looking?

i'm not sure what the red spot behind the fin is, but i did rescue a rainbow shark once that had the same problem, i did 10% water changes every day for 10 days and he got better.

if any of your other fish are looking out of sorts, i'd recommend 10% daily water changes for 10 days..

theyre glowlight tetras , thyere still schooling and swimming around and feeding well and the corys are scouring the bottom for ever more food. i did about a 10L water change today the tank was looking a bit dirty so changed that but will continue just to keep changing water now

if you are not sure about what condition they are in, those smaller water changes for a few days can only be a benefit..

that may be a sign that they not happy with water conditions or that they a bit sick.. the water changes will help.. onm a 60L its not so bad, that is 6L every day... when i have a sick fish in my 2m tank its like 70L per day that i change.. no fun lol but its worth it.

@KennyG - I don't know if glowlights do this but neons dull down at night time. They lose their colour overnight and charge up again in the day.

i think its purely efficiency.. when the lights are out, females cant see them anyway, so they dont waste useful energy on keeping the colours up like they do in the day time when the females can see them.
